Meet the Cast

Patrick Alred (Talthybius) is pleased to perform in his first show with The Chamber Theatre. As a lover of classical theatre, he is excited to be a part of such a unique production and perform in an original work. Having performed as an actor in over 25 stage productions in the Kentucky/Southern Indiana region since 2012, he is always up for a new challenge and his love of acting has never diminished.

Kate Bariteau (Hecuba Understudy/Officer Standby) is a former educator and admits to loving the thrill of receiving a call to cover a role at the last minute. Recently completing a tour with SoInto Shakespeare(’s) production of Much Ado About Nothing (Leonata/Conrade), she has helped tell great stories with The Chamber Theatre, Shelby County Community Theater, Little Colonel Playhouse, and Company Outcast. Kate is a student at the Actors' Center, where she has studied acting/Shakespeare with McLean Fletcher and accent/dialect with David Alan Stern. In real life, she is a DIY enthusiast who manages a household full of nearly-grown children, various crafting supplies, and stacks of books.

Hermione Bean-Mills (Athena) is a recent graduate of Goshen College. Some favorite roles include Malvolio (Twelfth Night) at Goshen College, the Nurse (Romeo and Juliet) with Kentucky Shakespeare's Globe Players, and Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice) and Miss Maple (The Butler Did It) at Little Colonel Playhouse.

Allison Anderson Coomes (Artemis) contributed to several shows during their time at Bellarmine University, including roles as Sandra (The Scotian Women) and Professor Moriarty (Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure), but has not worked in theatre since shortly after graduating with an English degree in 2017. A close family connection to Harlan informs their excitement for this production, and they hope to make their Mamaw proud. Thanks also to Mom, for always indulging artistic whimsy.

Danielle Eckert (Daphne) is excited to join The Chamber Theatre for this production of The Harlan Women. She most recently performed in Faith Works Performing Arts' production of Ragtime. Since completing her master's degree last year, Danielle has been reveling in a growing list of hobbies. She is especially fond of making pottery.

Grace Hartman (Cora) is a lover of all things creative. Grace has always taken advantage of opportunities to pursue different vehicles of expression, and has pursued theater on and off for years in various settings. The Harlan Women will be her first performance in a Louisville company, but she looks forward to exploring more theatrical opportunities in the future. Outside of theater, Grace loves being on the mats learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, spending time with her dog, Teddy, and writing silly little stories.

Adam Hendricks (Menelaus) is excited to return to the stage after a nine-year hiatus. Favorite past roles include Grandpa in You Can’t Take It With You and The Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors. He’s especially grateful to be doing theatre once again with his sister, Alyssa, who bullied him into auditioning for his first show over 15 years ago.

Artemis Jones (Iris) is very happy to be given a chance to be a part of The Chamber Theatre's production of The Harlan Women. They have spent many years enjoying theater from afar and are now excited to start being a part of it. With limited knowledge and experience, they are ready to jump in and see what happens next.

Michelle Lori (Hecuba) is an artistic co-director for The Chamber Theatre, co-playwright for The Harlan Women, and thrilled to perform Hecuba with this talented company of artists! Other recent credits include Do You Feel Anger? (Untitled Louisville Theatre Company), Kinky Boots (Pandora Productions and Redline Performing Arts), Into the Woods (Redline), It Shoulda Been You and A Very Sordid Wedding (Pandora). She directed her play, Hyacinth Halvey of Irish Hill, for The Chamber Theatre in June of 2024, and her 10-minute plays First Impression and Every Little Thing were produced locally at Highview Arts Center and Louisville Fringe Festival. Jeannette McKenna (Leda) is a married mother of two adults on the Autism Spectrum. Even being a Diabetic with Transverse Myelitis, she's a Dexcom Warrior who received her Pink Belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu's Women Empowered program. She's also an avid reader and loves to sing. Jeannette is definitely not new to theatre. She's been in numerous productions during her school years. As an adult, she's performed with Clarksville Little Theatre, Company Outcast, Central On Stage, WhoDunnit, Louisville Dinner Detective, and The Chamber Theatre. Her most recent stage role being a part of The People and The Enemy in January.

Allison McKiernan (Cassandra) is so excited to be playing Cassandra in The Harland Women! A lifelong lover of theatre, she began performing in musicals and later earned a BFA in Acting. Now setting her sights on Chicago, she plans to pursue acting in theatre and film, while also exploring writing and comedy. In her free time Allison loves keeping up with everything pop culture and perfecting her Jennifer Coolidge impression.

Kenneth Pryor III (Officer) is a father of two, Kyrie and Kendrick, and a modern-day Renaissance man. He’s dabbled in music, photography, and his fair share of bourbon. He’s a community leader in many local organizations, such as Always Look Inward and many others. He’s been telling Alyssa he’d do anything for her all year. This show is where he proves it while debuting into theatre.

Kyrie Pryor (Astyanax) is 7 years old and a 2nd grader in JCPS. He is excited for his debut into theatre and looks forward to continuing it. In his free time, Kyrie enjoys playing Roblox, drinking boba, and traveling with his family.

Catherine O’Neill (Penelope) has appeared in productions such as M*cB*th and Inherit the Wind. They are making their debut with The Chamber Theatre. Having grown up in Breathitt County, they are excited to appear in a show about their homeland.

Rosemary Sims (Helen) is a Louisville native who works as a full-time realtor in the Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana area. When she's not working, Rosemary enjoys singing in her church choir, being a karaoke superstar, traveling, and playing the viola in the Louisville Civic Orchestra.

Rayann Houghlin Walker (Andromache) is so excited to be performing in her second production with The Chamber Theatre! Rayann has previously appeared in productions with Company Outcast, Bunbury Theatre, Pandora Productions, Highview Arts Center, and three witches shakespeare. A Kentucky native, Rayann is proud and thankful to be part of the Louisville theater and film community. She wishes to thank her husband and her pets for the constant love and support.

Dylan Weber-Owens (Musician - Banjo) is a folk guitarist and songwriter from Louisville, KY. Blending techniques and motifs from various styles new and old, he brings forward a mixture that feels at once fresh and careworn, playful and melancholic, relating his triumphs and troubles in hopes of creating an emotional resonance with his audience. Weber-Owens has played many of Louisville’s storied stages as a solo artist and as an accompanist, playing guitar, bass, and banjo as the occasion demands.

Alyssa Rae Hendricks (Director) is thrilled to be working with The Chamber Theatre for the first time. She started making theatre during revival at her grandfather's church. She was 4 years old and didn't realize the sermon questions were rhetorical. She's been teaching, stage managing, and directing in theatres across Louisville for over a decade. Some of her favorite production credits include Pride and Prejudice, Red and Romeo and Juliet.

Griffin Cobb (Music Director) is a musician, actor, and music teacher who performs across the Louisville performing arts landscape. He recently released his first studio album, and performs in DIY spaces, local venues and as an accompanist for theatre works (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change - Hayswood Theatre; Macbeth - three witches shakespeare). As an actor, he has recently been seen in productions by three witches shakespeare (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Gallathea, Much Ado About Nothing) and Untitled Louisville Theatre Company (Do You Feel Anger?). He is excited to be making his first venture into music direction with The Chamber Theatre!

Shannon Watts (Stage Manager) is delighted to be working with The Chamber Theatre for the first time! She has been on a several year break from the stage to begin raising her own future theater-makers. Teaching and mentoring young actors is one of her passions and she has been involved in many youth productions and theater camps around Louisville. She is very grateful to her husband for supporting her always and to Alyssa for encouraging her to keep making good art, even with kids in tow.

Ariana Desrosier (Lighting Design) is a local theatre professional who wears as many hats behind the scenes as she can. She has collaborated with several Louisville-based companies, including Theatre [502], Looking for Lilith, and Actors Theatre. She is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to The Harlan Women and thanks The Chamber Theatre for the trust to design for this work.

Megan Stewart (Costume Design) is a multi-media artist and seamstress with a focus in fiber. Originally from West Virginia, she is excited to help bring the production alive through costumes reflecting her Appalachian roots and lifelong love of textiles.
Meet the Playwright
James Thompson is a Louisville-based actor, director, and writer who is proud to present his first feature-length script. He’s particularly thrilled to work with The Chamber Theatre once again, where he’s previously performed in Hyacinth Halvey of Irish Hill (Hyacinth Halvey) and Around the World of 80 Days (Prince Adi). Favorite performance credits elsewhere include Evil Dead the Musical (Ash), Guys and Dolls (Sky Masterson), and A Chorus Line (Bobby). James extends his deepest thanks to The Chamber Theatre for producing this script, and to his co-playwright, Michelle Lori, without whom there would be no script.
